Looking for your next great opportunity? Are you ready to make an impact as part of a dynamic and growing team? The Group Leader position is a leadership position and is directly responsible for the Public Services group's efficiency and productivity.

DUTIES

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Primary liaison between company and client. Must fully understand a client's needs and expectations for their project. Exercise good client management by providing sound technical expertise, consulting and educating the client through the whole development process, keeping the client informed about all activity, timelines, changes required, etc. in a timely manner, and ultimately maintaining overall client satisfaction and continued client trust.

Provide work assignments and review performance to ensure the efficient, cost-effective utilization of staff.

Hire, train, retain, and develop survey staff.

Facilitate work between engineering and survey to create an efficient method of field to office to field.

Serve as technical advisor by providing senior level input and evaluation on projects.

Assist with the marketing of the firm's capabilities to establish new clients and enhance relationships with existing clients.

Keep current on engineering trends and developments to recommend department changes.

Be active in the engineering, surveying, planning and/or environmental community; attend organizational meetings and serve on committees of NVBIA, NAIOP, VAS, ABC or other industry related groups.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or licensed professional with equivalent experience.

Minimum of ten (10) years Virginia, Maryland and DC land development experience to include project management, staff supervision and management of client relationships.  Public sector work a plus.

Technical proficiency in all aspects of field expertise: engineering, planning and/or environmental work including SWM/BMP, erosion and sediment control, storm sewer, sanitary and water design

Proficiency with applicable computer

Excellent communication skills in working effectively with government officials, clients and staff members.

Demonstrated experience in successfully managing the financial, marketing, human resources and operational aspects of a team.

Skills:

Project management including scheduling, financial and quality control;

Knowledge of jurisdictional and industry requirements;

Excellent oral and written communication;

Leadership and staff management;

Business development and marketing to retain and attract business.
